‘藤缠树缠藤|Stay in Tune’

ChaxArt is proud to present the exhibition ‘藤缠树缠藤|Stay in Tune’ by Wang & Buck, a unique jewellery exhibition exploring the true intrinsic value of jewellery design itself. Curated by artistic director Qiushi Zhang, the exhibition marks the first presentation of artist duo Wang & Buck (known as recognized jewellery artists Kim Buck and Hongxia Wang). The artist duo exhibiting works include a new series of the collection, along with iconic works Kammertonen and Made in China.

Inspired by an ancient Chinese folk song, téngchánshù - meaning vines wrapped around trees, intended initially to convey unswerving feelings, the exhibition presents the imagery and complementarity of yin and yang, movement and stillness, strength and softness, are mirrored in the pursuit of harmony and eternity, through the making of meaning, truth and beauty. It is the kind of relationship proudly written in “Wang & Buck”, the kind of relationship between contemporary jewellery design and traditional goldsmithing, nurtured endlessly through their articulation of progress and inheritance that both support and complement one another.
